Bragging Rights

Today for Father's Day, (not that Dallas is a father, or will be for that matter, or that I had a father do this for) I decided that I was going to cook a yummy Sunday Dinner.  You know, roast beef, mashed potatoes, that sort of thing.  And I am quite pleased to say that I accomplished that!  I'm definitely not a cook, but it turned out really good.  Dallas even said that it compared with his mom's, which is a huge compliment, and practically licked his plate clean.  The poor thing has been deprived of good home cooking since he married me.  I really should do something about that!  But this was a good start!  Needless to say, we now have roast, potatoes, and gravy coming out of our ears and will probably be eating it for the rest of the week.  Oh yes! The gravy!  I've heard that gravy is hard to make and have it turn out good.  I must say that for my first time it was pretty dang good.  A tiny bit on the runny side, but not bad at all, and had really good flavor!  Woo!!!!
I'm pretty sure this was only the second time I've used my crock pot since we've been married.  Pathetic!
The finished product!

I also spoke in Sacrament meeting today.  It went really well. People seemed to enjoy it, everybody came up to me and gave complements.  That always makes you feel good.  I was most nervous what Dallas would think because he's so picky about public speakers.  He notices every little thing!  If they say "um", if they talk too fast, take too long, etc.  So he told me before the meeting that he was going to time me to make sure I didn't go over my 12 minute mark.  He wasn't kidding!  My ending time was 12 minutes and 49 seconds.  He did tell me that I said "um" 3 times, but only in the beginning when I was nervous so he said it was ok.  All in all, he said I did really well and he really enjoyed it.  So if I passed his test, hopefully I did ok.  :)
