Softball Superstar!

Oh what a good game!!  We played softball tonight and did awesome!  Had a few blunders on my part though.  I was playing at first and a ball was hit into short right field.  So I got into position for our Right Fielder to throw the ball back in to me.  Next thing I know I'm on the ground!  The guy rounding first took a really wide turn and ran right into me!  Seriously like a football tackle.  Talk about whiplash.....ugh.  It wasn't bad and I wasn't hurt, and the guy felt soooo bad.  He kept apologizing and making sure I was ok.  But I'm tough!  No big deal right?  Just after that half inning when we were up to bat, I was on third running in to home.  I heard Dallas yelling from third base coach, "BALL, BALL, BALL!"  So I kinda duck my head right?  Don't wanna get hit!  But in the process, I leaned forward, lost my footing, and totally ate it.  Unfortunately, this was after I already crossed the plate so I couldn't pass it off as an awesome play at home.  Nope, I'm just clumsy!  I did a nice tuck and roll, and got some beautiful battle wounds.  Kinda gross, but sooooo cool!

I got a bunch of dirt and junk under the skin, so I had to tear off the extra skin that was hanging off.  Ow.

After  we got the skin off, Dallas was going to make me scrub it to get the rest of the dirt out.  But I just couldn't do that to myself so I made him do it.  It hurt like the dickens, but surprisingly, my only reaction was to laugh.  I was squeezing his arm and laughing hysterically.  Don't quite know why, but it's better than screaming.  At least Dallas thought so.  I'm pretty proud of these wounds!  But if anyone asks, it was from an awesome play at home!
(Sorry the pictures are so gross, but I know at least my in-laws will appreciate them.  It seems like they are always taking pictures of injuries:) )

Sounds like your one more step towards a softball star, you just need to wait for the permanent knee scars! And it sounds like you have the makings for those. Keep up the good work. I like the blogs. Love ya
