This weekend started out not so fun because we lost our softball game on friday. No, we didn't lose, we got slaughtered. How depressing. But it ended really fun! We got tickets online to go to a taping of the show Last Comic Standing. It's a pretty popular new-ish reality TV show. The theater was out in Hollywood, and a trip out there is always a good time. It's pretty sad, we've lived here for two years and we've only been to Hollywood twice. Buuuuut it's not all it's cracked up to be. In the time we were there I'm pretty sure we saw about 100 or more weirdos, walked through a circle of guys fighting, and saw some homeless girl peeing in a corner right by the sidewalk. Not so glamorous!!! We did have fun at the show though! The comedians were pretty funny, but I hate that so many of them don't keep their comments clean and think it's funny to bring down our country and it's leaders. It's really sad to watch so much corruption happening all around us. There was one really funny guy who made a joke about how he thinks Mario from the Nintendo game is homeless---He always wears the same clothes, and he goes running around through the sewer pipes all day looking for coins!!
This is just a picture of the stage. I thought it was pretty cool looking. It was fun to be part of a taping. They had us practice about a gillion times how to clap....and laugh....and laugh followed by clapping. It was the greatest when the host would mess up his lines or couldn't read the teleprompter. He was really funny!
After the show we walked down Hollywood Blvd. This is a picture of the ever famous Pantages Theater. No, we didn't or haven't seen Wicked yet, but I've found myself going into tourist mode realizing that our move is only a few months away.
Mom and Dad, this one's for you. I was trying to read as many of the star's names on the walk of fame on Hollywood Blvd. as I could. I saw this one and thought you guys would enjoy it. I know you like Doris Day! I also saw Julie Andrews and thought of all the Sound of Music lovers in the family (Katie...:-) and possibly Kristen?? I know for sure not Laurie!! ) but it was getting too dark and the camera on my phone doesn't have a flash.
So all in all we had a really fun weekend. I can't believe how fast the time is going by. I can't believe it's already May!! Starting tomorrow Dallas is officially in 9th term at school. It feels like yesterday that we got married and moved here. He was only in 3rd term then. I thought the time to move to Utah would never come, and now it's fast approaching! There are so many things about California that I'm going to miss! I LOVE going to the beach and playing in the water or just listening to the waves. I love all the authentic Mexican restaurants that are here. I wasn't a fan of Mexican food at all before I married Dallas, but now living in California I can't get enough! Most importantly I'll miss all of the great friends we've made out here, and the awesome members of our ward. We've become really close with another couple here. He and Dallas have been friends since they started school. We always get together for dinner and games. They have two little boys that loooove Dallas and are expecting a little girl this month. He will be graduating the same time as Dallas from Chiro school, but he is also studying Accupunture and Oriental Medicine which will take him another year to complete. The good news is they are also from Utah and hopefully will be headed back there when he is finished with the rest of his schooling. We have really enjoyed serving in the Primary for the past two years as well. We have eight rambunctious boys in our class. Some of the them drove us nuts, but we've come to love them all. When Dallas was getting ready to take boards in March and was gone every weekend at review classes, a little boy in our class would offer to say the prayer every Sunday. And each time he would say, "Heavenly Father, please help Brother George pass his test." It was so sweet! Dallas was really touched that he was praying for him. His prayers paid off though! And the boy was so happy to hear that Dallas had passed his test!
So, we will really miss California, but we are really looking forward to what the future has in store for us. I can't wait to get back with friends and family. Everyone knows a girl needs her sisters!! :) Dallas is so done with school and can't wait to get his career going. We know it will be a challenge merging into an established business, but we are really excited to see what blessings it will bring! Well, this time I DEFINITELY rambled!! Sorry if I bored anyone, but no one forced you to read it!!
