Summer fun

Over memorial day weekend, all of us Georges headed up to the cabin in Island Park. It was a really fun trip. We had great weather, and most importantly, a lot of time to just relax. The cabin is right on the lake. The view is gorgeous and the lake will be a lot of fun later in the summer when the weather warms up. We are heading back up there over the 4th of July, so hopefully it will be better by then. Anyway, here is a picture of the cabin from the lake.
Dan and Shellie brought their ski boat. It was fun just cruising around. It was a little cold for me, but it was fun being out on the lake. We did see some crazy people that were actually tubing and wakeboarding! I couldn't believe it! The water was freezing! Here's a picture of Dallas in the boat.
All day Sunday it rained. We were cooped up inside all day. By that night the rain had stopped, so we decided to go outside and build a great big fire.
We started out just roasting marshmallows for our dessert. But we couldn't resist roasting hot dogs as well (even though we had already eaten dinner) because hot dogs over the fire are the BEST!! This is the group....minus me, cuz i'm taking the picture.
Laurie and ben......
Monday we went on a hike to look at the Coffee Pot Rapids that are in a river up there. We are big canoeurs and had heard that this rapid was just a monster, so we thought we'd go check it out. The hike followed the river the whole way. On our way back, the boys couldn't help but get their fishing stuff out for a little bit.
Just a cute pic of Kam while we were waiting for the boys to fish.
Ben didn't bring his waders on the hike, so he just stood on the shore.
You gotta love their outfits!
We haven't been doing much else this summer except for playing softball three nights a week. This trip to the cabin has been the only thing we have really gone out and done.
It was really fun to get away and have a nice vacation. We have been super busy. It feels like all we do is go, go, go, so it was great to just sleep in and not have anything to do!
